Apply for a Cool Seat

In 2024, two Ku-ring-gai communities—a 20-unit apartment block and a kindergarten—won ‘Cool Seat’ compost systems thanks to Ku-ring-gai Council’s ‘Net Zero’ Team, Electrifying Bradfield and sustainable designer Michael Mobbs. Now you have a chance to win one of four Cool Seats for your community.

Applications close 28th September 2025 at 5pm.

Sustainable Futures Day

Here is David Smith from Electrifying Bradfield helping children with the solar car challenge. Electrifying Bradfield has facilitated access to the solar car kits from Kite Magic. These kits are made from a range of re-purposed, specially 3D printed and sourced components. The components are designed in a way that requires participants to experiment in order to get an effective solar car, teaching both problem solving and aspects of renewable power.

If your school/organisation would like to run Solar Car days, please contact Electrifying Bradfield.

Electrifying Bradfield

Electrifying Bradfield is about doing what we can to support adoption of renewable energy within the Upper North Shore. We have a vision of a cleaner, cheaper energy future made possible by the electrification of our  houses and transport. This vision is heavily influenced by Saul Griffiths and 'Rewiring Australia'.

Support Us

Electrifying Bradfield works mainly using volunteer time. Contributing $50 goes a long way to helping us run solar information nights, attend markets and fairs and provide educational materials.

Note that Electrifying Bradfield is a not-for-profit, although not a certified charity (DGR).

  • Finally, last week, the supposed costings for a move to develop nuclear energy in Australia were released.
  • The costings derive from a report by Danny Price, Managing Director of 'Frontier Economics'.
  • Apart from the fact that there are no 'small-scale nuclear reactors operational anywhere in the world, there are a number of other very serious issues that need to be considered about the modelling on which the Report is based., These include the assumptions behind the modelling and the interpretations of the results by both Price and spokespersons from the Coalition politi
