BREAKING NEWS! Electrifying Bradfield Inc. installs the first 'Cool Seat' Composting system in Ku-ring-gai!
* Today, Monday 4th November, 2024 is a day that many children and their carers in Ku-ring-gai will remember!
WHY??
* Because today, members of Electrifying Bradfield Inc., with a great deal of support and help from Michael Mobbs, installed the first amazing 'Cool Seat' Composting System in Ku-ring- gai! - at Burra Brui Preschool in St Ives!
*Burra Brui was the first of two lucky winners of a 'Cool Seat' - FREE!
*The 'Cool Seat' Composting system, was designed by Michael to reduce the enormous amount of food waste that ends up in landfill - - and converts to METHANE - a Greenhouse gas much much worse for our world than CO2!
*It is an easy-to-assemble and use, highly efficient,safe, secure, vermin-proof, composting system consisting of a worm farm, two compost bins covered by a wooden bench seat and two small gardens all enclosed in a recycled wood and corrugated metal frame - and the worms do all the work!
*The two compost 'Cool Seats' were purchased from a generous Environmental Levy Grant from Ku-ring-gai Council. They will be trialled in two very different sites in Ku-ring-gai over the next six months.
*As the accompanying photos show there was much curiosity and excitement from the children at Barra Brui during the installation - and especially when the garden planting began! - it was a wonderful day of learning, excitement and fun!- and teachers have lesson plans for recording and investigating the composting!
* The 'Cool Seat' - and the worms!- efficiently produce 10kgs of compost per week - that's a lot of saved food waste! - and the best food for any garden!
* 'Cool Seats' were specifically designed for community installation - for apartments/townhouse complexes, estates, street communities.
