* Through July 2025, 19,592 solar batteries were installed in the 3 million Australian rooftops fitted with solar energy systems!

* This increases the total stored electricity battery capacity (not including that in the increasing number of EVs) by 344 MWhs (344,000 KWhs).

* From July 1st, 2025 households and businesses with rooftop solar systems installed or being installed can get around 30% (depending on size of battery installed) off the total cost of a battery.

  • The latest research report from Saul Griffith's not-for-profit organisation 'Rewiring Australia' demonstrates unequivocally that complete electrification of the average Australian home means energy cost savings of $4,100.00 per year - the quickest way to reduce your energy costs - both now - and FOREVER!
  • The Electrification Tipping Point'Report [available to download free from www.rewiringaustralia.org] provides the evidence that Australia is one of the first countries in the world to 'pass an electrification tipping point in home energy economics'

* Australia's Clean Energy Council last week announced figures for the amount of electric power provided to the national electricity grid from household  rooftop solar generation!

* Results demonstrate the rapidly increasing role that household rooftop solar is playing in powering Australia!

* There are now more than 3 million of Australia's 11 million households with rooftop solar panels! The large majority of these are houses due to the continuing difficulties of installing rooftop solar on apartment buildings!

* A few highlights from the book from a review by Jeff Sparrow , 'The Saturday Paper', July 29-August 4, 2023:

+ Through all of animal and human evolution the management of heat has preoccupied all creatures!

+Once human internal systems reach 40.5 degrees centigrade we die. That is why the 40 degrees plus days- in some places near 50 degrees- of heat across Europe recently, are so significant.

OUR ELECTRIFYING EXPERIENCE

Angus M Robinson from Sydney’s Leafy Suburbia

Saul Griffith’s recent appearance on the ABC TV program, Australian Story has prompted me to reflect on our own experience, 14 years after moving into our current home, during a time that the challenges faced by climate change has been a prompt for all home-owners to consider how we can all reduce our environmental footprint and carbon emissions.

* LACK OF INFORMATION MAYBE THE MAIN CAUSE OF RESIDENTS OF BRADFIELD NOT TAKING POSITIVE ACTION AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE - 'WHAT SHOULD I DO?'  HOW DO I DO IT?'

*Survey research by Ku-ring-gai Council 'Net Zero' Team found that one of the main barriers reported by respondents for NOT taking positive action against climate change is because of a lack of information!

* This is supported by reponses to Electrifying Bradfield's own social survey.
